Future Beef Expo

19-05-2010     v>Success for Ag Challenge Limited at the Future Beef NZ Competition.

 
Based in Wanganui, Ag Challenge is one of New Zealand’s longest established Private Training Establishments.
 
In May, eight students: Samantha Sorenson, Lance Wernham, Theresa Hawira, Joshua Cribb, Kenneth Brickley, Nicole Lambert, Josh Bardell, and Lynley Smallwood (Tutor Assistant), took part in the competition, as a new activity to enhance their training.
 
This Future Beef NZ animal handling competition is run in conjunction with the National Beef Expo at Feilding. The two days of competition involved steer leading and presentation as well as modules on fencing, ATV’s and animal anatomy.
 
Ag Challenge won first place as the:
‘Education Institute for Excellence in Beef Industry Training 2010’
 
Lead tutor Dave Smallwood was also pleased with the number of individual awards the students gained.
 
Mr Smallwood and the students worked closely with Ranui Angus owners Lyndsay and Maria Johnstone and their team for 6 months and wish to thank them.
 
Ranui Angus Steers won numerous 1st place and Supreme Champion awards, bringing unrivalled success to the Johnstone's.
